Protaras has always had a good nightlife, its success has been built on dedicated parties in pubs, sometimes warming the crowd up to go off clubbing elsewhere. Not any more. There’s a younger crowd around especially during the summer, so there’s an increasing demand for somewhere worthwhile to go after the pubs, but… it has to be good. There’s now two Clubs in Hotels Road and between them they cover all the music styles you could possibly want, brought to you by young and talented UK DJ’s. Protaras might be a small place but the party nights are huge. Saves a trip to Napa!
Boogies Disco,
is opposite the Tsokkos Beach Hotel. Playing dance and D.I.S.C.O. classics from the seventies and all the best party pop tunes from the eighties, this melting session of retro grooves will put a smile on your face. The resident DJ’s Funky and Mercuri, play to the crowd and throw in some Old Skool classics for good measure. So if Culture Club, Wham, Kylie, Eurythmics, Queen or Diana Ross and the Motown diva’s are your thing, or if you just like it cheesy, dig out some funky flares, big medallions, a full on afro wig and get ready to hit the dance floor.
Q Club
is underneath Africanos Pub and next door to Pizza Hut. The first thing that strikes you about this venue is the first class sounds. In some clubs the sound varies as you walk around. Not here. There’s a state of the art system that’s consistently excellent where ever you’re dancing. The girls on the bars and podiums will back me up on that one. The latest high tech lights and lasers complete the picture. Resident DJ’s Andy Savage and Agent K, play a perfect mix of the very latest R ’n’ B, House, Garage and the best of the Old Skool. Resident MC’s get you up on the right level. (Respect for the Euphoria Gig in August, more please? Ed.) The Pre-club parties are at Maestros bar, where else?
